For 20 years, Luduco Living has built its well-loved and respected furniture business around craftsmanship, personal service and lasting relationships.
Luduco Living is a family business owned and operated by Mornington Peninsula locals Jeremy and Sabrina Brook, specialising in bespoke sofas and dining and cabinet furniture, with much of it designed in-house. Now, as they prepare to close the doors, they are reflecting on the past two decades with gratitude.
Jeremy and Sabrina built their business around a strong commitment to locally made furniture, particularly sofas and cabinet furniture produced within about 30km of the Peninsula. Many of those pieces came from small, specialist workshops run by artisan makers who, like Luduco Living, are family businesses themselves. It is a model that has kept skills, relationships and production close to home while allowing customers to choose furniture made for the way they actually live.
Alongside locally made pieces, the store also carried leading international recliner brands, with an emphasis on finding the right fit and the perfect level of comfort and function for each person. For Jeremy, after more than 53 years working in the furniture industry across different countries and environments, that personal connection has been particularly meaningful.
“We can honestly say that our local customer base has been our best and most rewarding experience,” Jeremy and Sabrina say.
This commitment to quality and personal connection has been reflected in the loyalty of their customers. Over the years, many have returned to furnish another room, replace a much-loved piece or bring in another generation of the family. The reviews speak for themselves, with customers sharing that they love the personal attention from the Luduco team and the comfort and quality of the furniture.
For a small family business, relationships have mattered through both good times and difficult ones. Jeremy and Sabrina readily acknowledge that the support of their customers helped Luduco Living weather the disruptions of Covid shutdowns and the economic downturn that followed.
“Without our loyal and trusting customers, we could not have endured all the ups and downs,” they say. “We are indebted and very grateful to our wonderful customer base.”
There have been other changes too. The first dogs who inspired the Luduco name – Lulu, Dudley and Coco – have passed, and new companions Ziggy and Bella have joined the family.
Now it’s time for one of the biggest changes so far. Jeremy and Sabrina may be closing the doors on the business, but their contribution will live on in the homes they have helped create. Across the Peninsula and beyond, Luduco Living pieces will remain in living rooms, dining rooms and family spaces for many years to come.
