Every year, the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal brings tens of thousands of Victorians together to raise money for sick children. To celebrate the appeal’s 90th anniversary, organisers of the annual Run for the Kids fundraiser have introduced two events this year, beginning this month with Run for the Kids online.
Designed to accommodate everyone who wants to actively support the appeal – whether runners or not – the virtual Run for the Kids lets you raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital through any form of movement you choose. From March 28 until Good Friday, you can spend 90 minutes running, walking, jogging, skipping, hopping, swimming, riding, sailing – it’s up to you. And it doesn’t even need to be all at once, just as long as you complete your 90 minutes of movement within the six days.
It’s the perfect way to kick off your training for the traditional Run for the Kids on August 29, and while you don’t have to enter both events, there are great value ‘bundles’ available for those who do. The majority of all entry fees goes directly to the Good Friday Appeal to pay for projects, research and technological innovations to ensure that every child receives the very best treatment now and into the future.
