Wilsons Wine Cellar is Mornington’s own Spanish-inspired restaurant/bar, where the preservative-free food is made with fruit and veg picked daily and the sourdough bread is freshly baked. And the good news for all of us in lockdown is that takeaways are back and available from Wednesday to Sunday from 5-8pm for all our COVID-19 comfort needs.
The full menu is available on Wilsons’ website and Facebook page, where you’ll also find weekly specials. This week’s Friday night special is Mexican date night – $79 for three courses for two people. Options include a prawn and avocado tostadita for entrée, beef chilli and Mexican rice for a main and an apple pie taco for dessert. Upgrade to the $99 pack and Wilsons will throw in two fresh margaritas.
Sunday roast has gone a little loco – think hot smoky, tangy lamb ribs with slaw and mac ‘n’ cheese – and of course dessert just has to be s’more. The price is $49 for two people or $89 for four. Both packs are available for pre-order only, and some re-heating will be required.
So what are you waiting for? Arriba, arriba! Andale, andale!
