How do you hold a major trade exhibition in the middle of a global pandemic while keeping exhibitors and members of the public safe? Why, virtually, of course. Caravan Industry Victoria and principal partner RV Online are holding the first virtual caravan and camping show this month, and over five days you’ll get to connect and chat with exhibitors and industry experts, buy camping equipment or accessories online, watch live product demonstrations, and be taken on 3D tours of the latest caravans and recreational vehicles.
The Victorian Caravan and Camping Virtual Show, which is open 24 hours a day from September 30-October 4, is the industry’s response to the travel restrictions and lockdown imposed across the state as we look forward to again being able to go camping and caravanning. “This is about providing consumers with the ability to continue to compare and explore everything in one place, just like they would at one of our four annual shows,” said Caravan Industry Victoria CEO Rob Lucas. “Consumers can interact, chat and video call with exhibitors, watch demonstrations and ask questions, collect brochures on products they like, and get the deal they are looking for.”
The show includes more than 140 exhibits, each with their own special offers. There is also a Passport to Freedom competition with $17,000 in prizes, and a weekly registration prize pack valued at $800 from RV Online. “It is an Australian-first – and even maybe a world-first – for the caravanning industry,” said RV Online general manager Paul Widdis. “RV Online is all about the digital landscape and helping customers in these difficult times get access to quality products in preparation for their next adventure, and it is great to see Caravan Industry Victoria realising this shift in consumer behaviour and bringing the ‘show’ to the people.”
