The rumble of hundreds of motorcycles last month was music to the ears of Phil Matthews.
The organiser of the annual Peninsula Toy Run was “extremely happy” after about 600 riders converged on the Frankston Waterfront on Saturday, December 3, for the run to Rosebud.
Loaded with toys and food for Peninsula families doing it tough, they then set off for Rosebud Secondary College, where the donations were handed over to Southern Peninsula Food For All, whose members treated the riders to morning tea.
“It all went extremely well,” Phil said. “We had a whole stage full of toys and a whole table of food.”
The toy run was started in 2001 by the late John Smollen.
