Frankston’s stunning street art is just one of the city’s myriad tourist drawcards.
Those of us who already live and work here know just why this part of the world is so attractive to tourists. Well, it seems we’re not alone: Frankston, Fingal and Dromana have made the finals of the Victoria Tourism Industry Council’s Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards – and the beauty of these awards is you get the chance to decide the winners.
There are two categories in which you can vote: Top Tourism Town with a population of more than 5000, in which Frankston and Dromana are finalists; and Top Small Tourism Town with a population of less than 5000, in which Fingal is a finalist. Voting closes at noon on Thursday, May 27, and the winners will be announced in July. When you cast your vote, you’ll also be given the option to enter the draw to win a Melbourne getaway for two.
Frankston Mayor Kris Bolam said: “More and more people are realising that Frankston is becoming its own destination drawcard. The city has come a long way in the last 10 years. We’re seeing this in the crafters and innovators that are coming to Frankston City and starting new businesses here. There is a new energy in the city and it’s not only attracting more businesses, but more families are now calling Frankston home. It’s not only a great place to visit, but to live as well.”
