‘The Man in Black’ is back and reloaded after two sell-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House and an 18-month Australia-wide tour. The acclaimed show, originally starring Tex Perkins narrating the life of Johnny Cash, has won a Helpmann Award for Best Contemporary Australian Concert and it is showing at the Frankston Arts Centre on Friday, June 3.
It stars recording artist Adam Harvey and country music songstress Catherine Britt and together they reveal the tumultuous love story and sing the timeless classics of country music legends Johnny Cash and June Carter. Harvey has a career spanning almost 20 years, 500,000 album sales, gold and platinum albums and eight Golden Guitar Awards. He is one of Australia’s most popular and enduring recording artists. Britt is an acclaimed singer/songwriter and winner of Female Artist of the Year at the Country Music Association of Australia Awards in Tamworth.
During the two-hour performance Harvey will perform 20 of Cash’s best-known songs, including ’Ring of Fire’, ‘I Walk the Line’, ‘Folsom Prison Blues’, ‘A Boy Named Sue’, and ‘Jackson’ with his backing band ‘The Tennessee Three’.
