The photos shown here are astonishing not just in their beauty but also because they have been taken by two teenage boys. It’s always been a passion for me, says Daniel Felsinger.
‘I always liked taking photos on my mum’s phone when I was little. A few months ago, me and my mate decided to make it a serious thing.’
Daniel was further inspired by the photography subject he took at school in year nine. His enthusiasm was contagious and soon his friends Rob and Lachie were having a go behind the lens. The result is DRL Photography, which was founded by the three teenagers(Lachie has since moved on).
Daniel and Rob are already showing a huge amount of talent. Their stunning work, mostly shot using a Canon 700D with an 18-55mm lens and 55-250mm lens, features seascapes and other natural landscapes as well as urban ones, with the boys making regular photography trips to the city. Daniel says the next step may be to try his hand at surf photography.
Friends are now hiring DRL to take photos at parties, so it’s becoming a lucrative business for the secondary school students. It’s no wonder, when you look at DRL’s work, that Daniel is considering pursuing a career in photography.
