Police are calling for public help to identify a group of people who assaulted and robbed a 13-year-old boy near Frankston Pier last week. In an online post, police said the incident occurred after the teenager was approached by up to 15 males and females about 5pm on Friday, October 2.

“The victim has retreated from the pier but has been followed by this group,” the post said. “Near the restaurant (Sofia’s) on the foreshore, the group has set on the victim, assaulting him before stealing property and fleeing.”

One of the males allegedly involved in the assault is described as Caucasian in appearance, 20, 165cm, and wearing a black cap and white shirt and carrying a black satchel. Another is described as Maori in appearance, 15, short, with black hair. A third is described as Caucasian in appearance, 15, with blond hair.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has mobile phone footage is asked to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit and quote incident number 200366086.
