What if the question ‘What will people think?’ is the very thing standing between you and the life you’re craving?
The moment I stopped worrying about looking crazy was the moment everything changed.
Years ago, while out on my daily walk trying to quiet my anxious mind, I felt an unexpected urge to dance. Right there. Outdoors. My first thought was: “Could I? What will people think?”
So I took one small step, then another, until one day I found myself dancing along the pier in headphones, no longer worrying who was watching. Moving freely in nature brought a sense of liberation, aliveness and connection I hadn’t felt before.
Every time I press play, I have a choice: worry about what people might think, or honour what I know I need. Again and again, I choose joy over judgment, expression over perfection and courage over fear.
That simple practice continues to be one of my greatest teachers. It reminds me that beneath the expectations and endless doing, there is an aliveness within all of us, waiting to be felt, expressed and trusted.
Today, that practice has grown into POHSS Studio, where I guide people – predominantly women – through immersive movement experiences centred on play, presence and expression. From community dance events and retreats to corporate wellbeing and wellness programs, my mission remains the same: helping people discover their bodies are far more powerful, expressive and alive than they’ve been taught to believe.
Join us at an upcoming event this August, September or October, or discover how POHSS can bring a unique movement experience to your next corporate, community or celebration event.
