This commitment to growth prompted Aurora Spa and Bathhouse in Sorrento to partner with Chisholm Institute for Swedish massage upskilling. For the renowned spa, long recognised for its holistic approach to wellbeing, the aim was simple: refine foundational massage techniques, strengthen anatomical understanding and ensure a consistently exceptional standard of care. “Our team is the heart of everything we do,” said founder Lyndall Mitchell. “When our therapists deepen their skills, our guests feel the benefit immediately.”
The Chisholm program delivered exactly what Aurora needed, combining self-directed online learning with an intensive practical workshop. The online modules covered anatomy refreshers and core theory, giving the therapists the essential knowledge required before stepping into hands-on training.
The in-person workshop focused entirely on practical skill building. Using industry-standard equipment, participants refined Swedish massage techniques while developing stronger body mechanics, client assessment skills and communication strategies. The therapists described the day as engaging, productive and full of practical insight, with one noting: “The course exceeded my expectations. The anatomy made the techniques easier to understand, and the practical exercises were great.”
