From a simple idea to better heart care

Five years ago, Rotar Heart Health began with a simple idea.

After spending more than a decade working in cardiac services, I saw the same challenge again and again: patients waiting weeks or months for cardiac investigations, often needing multiple specialist appointments before receiving answers. For many people, this meant delays, uncertainty and significant out-of-pocket costs. For specialists and healthcare providers, it often affected continuity of care and made it more difficult to commence treatment in a timely manner. There had to be a better way.

In 2021, we opened our first clinic in Brighton with a simple goal: to provide patients and their GPs with fast access to specialist cardiac testing so important heart conditions could be identified earlier and treatment could begin sooner.

Recently, we expanded to Frankston, bringing this model of care to the Peninsula community. As someone who lived here and worked locally in cardiac services for many years, this has been particularly meaningful.

Today, Rotar Heart Health remains committed to the principles that inspired its creation. We continue to offer short waiting times, with many appointments available within days, and most cardiac diagnostic tests bulk-billed for eligible patients. Every test is performed by experienced cardiac physiologists, cardiac sonographers and cardiologists who specialise in heart health.

Heart disease remains one of Australia’s leading causes of death, yet early detection can make a life-changing difference. We are proud to work alongside local GPs, specialists and hospitals, helping patients access answers sooner and supporting better outcomes through early diagnosis and prevention.
