Experience in plastic surgery you can trust

Choosing to make a change to your appearance is a deeply personal decision, one that deserves time, care, and the guidance of an experienced professional you can trust. For many, the quieter winter months offer an ideal opportunity to reflect, plan, and take that first step.

With consulting rooms in Brighton and Frankston, Bayside Plastic Surgery and Peninsula Plastic Surgery are led by highly respected plastic surgeon Dr David Ross. For more than 30 years, Dr Ross has cared for patients across the Bayside and Mornington Peninsula communities, building a reputation grounded in clinical excellence, integrity, and genuine patient care.

Dr Ross brings a wealth of experience from his extensive public hospital career, having served as a consultant plastic surgeon at Frankston Hospital within Peninsula Health for 25 years, and at the Clayton and Moorabbin campuses of Monash Health, as well as Monash Childrenโ€™s Hospital for three decades. Since his recent retirement from public practice, Dr Ross has expanded his availability into private practice, consulting, and operating weekly across both locations.

His expertise spans the full spectrum of reconstructive plastic surgery, including the treatment of skin cancers, benign skin lesions, and hand-related conditions. Alongside this, Dr Ross has performed aesthetic procedures for more than three decades, offering patients thoughtful, personalised guidance when considering cosmetic surgery.

An initial consultation with Dr Ross is designed to be informative, supportive, and pressure-free. Whether you are exploring facial or body procedures or simply seeking clarity on what options might be suitable, each assessment provides a comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes as well as the associated risks and benefits. Patients leave with a clear, written summary of their consultation, including tailored advice and transparent financial information, ensuring you feel informed and confident in any next steps.

While a referral from your GP is preferred, initial consultations can be arranged independently. In line with AHPRA guidelines, a referral will be required before proceeding with any surgery, ensuring you have the opportunity to discuss your decision more broadly.

Equally important to your journey is the dedicated support team who work alongside Dr Ross. From your first enquiry through to your recovery, their experience and care provide reassurance at every stage. Many patients find this ongoing support invaluable, particularly during the healing process, where guidance and understanding can make all the difference.

If youโ€™ve been considering whether a procedure may be right for you, taking that first step can be both empowering and enlightening. Coming into the practice with an open mind for your consultation, the initial assessment not only offers the opportunity to ask questions and explore possibilities but also allows you to  make a fully informed decision, and importantly at your own pace, when you are ready.

Dr Ross will continue to share insights into the procedures he performs in future editions of Mornington Peninsula Magazine, helping you better understand your options and feel confident in your choices.

Warning: all invasive surgical procedures involve risk, which need to be understood before proceeding with surgery
