This beautiful raised pool was the perfect extension out from the decked veranda.
Selecting a pool’s position and shape is vital to ensure it’s in harmony with the rest of the garden.
The client’s brief was to create functional ‘rooms’ within the garden; the pool area; the veranda for dining; the pergola area in the garden to be a relaxing and secluded space; and a grass and planted area to be included. This was all accomplished by cleverly designating areas and then connecting them.
The stone-clad wall featured as a majestic backdrop. It also complemented a stone fireplace inside the home, therefore giving continuity to the inside and outside. When no one was swimming, you could still have the water spouts pouring their stream, creating both a visual focal interest and a sound that adds tranquillity.
When considering a pool, the subtle view to take is you don’t landscape around a pool, you position a pool as part of the landscape – a subtle difference, yes, but vitally important.
