Take a look at this. The Mornington Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the iconic Wednesday Market team have put their heads together to come up with a sensational reusable and seaside chic bag that ticks all the boxes.

Reusable bags have been available for purchase at the Wednesday Market for over a year now, but a bigger, sturdier and more designer-friendly eco-jute version is set to make a sensational take-home style statement very soon. The new bag is big enough for all your market produce or an average-sized supermarket shop, plus you’ll be satisfied in knowing that you’re bringing home one easy to use good looking carrier instead of three plastic bags that could end up floating in our bay.

The Mornington Peninsula is fast becoming wholeheartedly eco and plastic-free conscious. Balnarring is the first to be completely plastic bag-free as of the end of April, Mount Martha is on the way and Mount Eliza has just welcomed Boomerang Bags into its fold – stay tuned for more information on this in our next edition.

The strong, lined and comfortable eco-jute bags with “Main Street Market” printed on one side and “Main Street Mornington” on the other are great for use locally or as a lovely holiday reminder. Why not send one on a trip with an overseas visitor returning home or an interstate traveller? At $5 a bag, it doesn’t cost much to give the gift of plastic bag eradication or holiday destination remembrances. Grab yours outside the Mornington Chamber of Commerce in Main St on Wednesdays or at one of the stalls and say “no” to plastic bags.
