Peak-bloom farmgate days will operate mid-November, where the likelihood of these days going ahead is dependent on the numbers of guests allowed under current restrictions. These days include the opportunity to enjoy a produce tasting platter of either Red Hill Truffle produce or a Peony-themed platter. Make a mental note that nature lovers can also look forward to Christmas lily season in late December and early January, and in March you can see the picturesque Estate turn red during the dahlia season.
Red Hill Peony Estate produces peony flowers for the public and Australian market. It was established in 2015, yet Jill’s ancestors have held the property for 134 years, during which time the land has been used for timber, vegetables, apple orchards, cattle and now peonies, while Jill’s sister Jenny runs Red Hill Truffles. Farms must evolve and reflect what the market demands, and Jill’s bloomed with the growth, that’s for sure.
Due to the nature of this year, Jill advises those interested to check their website and social media for up-to-date information. This enchanted garden is open from 10.30am-4pm, and you can access the farmgate by driving 800m along the track to the carpark.
