Our community is great at rolling up their sleeves and getting the jab, according to Mornington Peninsula Shire. In a statement today the shire said Peninsula had this week reached an important milestone: 75.4 per cent have had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 51.6 per cent have had two doses.
“If you haven’t had your first dose yet, book it in. With a higher vaccination rate we will be able to get back to the things we love sooner: visiting friends and family, eating dinner at a restaurant and sweating it out at the gym.
“We are committed to following the advice of the Chief Health Officer and supporting government efforts to encourage our community to get vaccinated. Vaccination significantly reduces the risk of getting COVID-19 and protects against becoming very sick if you do get COVID-19.”
To get vaccinated:
Call your GP to check if they are offering vaccinations or speak to your pharmacist
Call the vaccine hotline 1800 675 398 or visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaccine to book your vaccination
There are three vaccination hubs on the Peninsula:
- Frankston Community Vaccination Hub, Bayside Shopping Centre Level 1, Shannon Mall
- Peninsula Health Vaccination Clinic, Suite 5, 1533 Point Nepean Rd, Capel Sound
- Rosebud Respiratory Clinic (now known as Peninsula Vaccination Centre), 1391 Point Nepean Rd, Rosebud; phone 0436 033 507
