If you’d packed away your bathers, boardies and budgie-smugglers thinking you wouldn’t be needing them again until summer, think again: Rosebud’s Yawa Aquatic Centre is opening on Friday, June 25. To celebrate, Mornington Peninsula Shire and Belgravia Leisure will be hosting a free community open day on Sunday, July 4, to give everyone the chance to see what Yawa has to offer, including the 50m indoor pool and a range of group fitness activities such as yoga, Pilates, body pump, and RPM.
“I could not be more excited,” said Mayor Despi O’Connor. “This long-awaited, wonderful facility will offer something for everyone, from baby swimming for our littlest community members to momentum active classes for our older residents.”
As well as the 50m indoor pool, Yawa has learn-to-swim and warm water program pools; a gym; rooms for health and fitness classes; a spa, sauna, and steam room; consulting suites for services to be offered by Peninsula Health including exercise physiology and occupational therapy; and a café.
