The line-up has been announced for the inaugural Mt Eliza Music Festival, and it’s looking mighty fine. The event, which will take place on Saturday February 6, 2016 at Mt Eliza’s Village Green, will feature the likes of Woodlock, Tash Sultana, Parallel People, Mike Gurrieri, Steve Ward, JPA and Marty Williams—with more still to be announced.
A diverse range of music genres will be represented at the festival, including multicultural acts and youth bands as well as a ‘Boho Blends DJ booth’, buskers, stilt walkers, face painters and a silent disco.
The festival was born when Mt Eliza resident and Melbourne music industryinsider Tim Meyer noticed an opportunity for a festival of this kind on the peninsula, and found that there was a lot of enthusiasm and support for the idea. “Everyone in town was up for it and people have been very supportive,” says Tim. “The Chamber of Commerce got right behind it and helped venues onboard, so we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”
Tim is helped by a team of volunteers, as well as Alison Doherty and the Mt Eliza Chamber of Commerce. The festival will carry on into the night as live music performances take place at a variety of eateries and bars in town.
