Two exciting art events in October and November will give Mornington Peninsula residents and visitors the chance to see some wonderful art and meet the creative talents behind it.
Artist members of the Peninsula Studio Trail will exhibit their recent paintings and ceramics on October 28 and 29 at the Sorrento Community Centre in Melbourne Rd and will be available to answer questions about their works for sale. Visitors will have the chance to meet the artists who will then also open their studios and demonstrate their work in November.
PST artists meet regularly at different studios and enjoy sharing their ideas and techniques. They also support and promote each other’s work as well as organise joint exhibitions and Open Studio Weekends.
PST Open Studio Weekends are happening across the third and fourth weekends of November (18-19 and 25-26) when members open their art studios at the same time. To plan your studio visits across one or two weekends, go to peninsulastudiotrail.org to download a map showing all the studios that are open.
There is something special about seeing an artist’s studio. This is a fascinating opportunity to discuss creative processes and gain an insight into art practices.
So come to the October exhibition and November Open Studio Weekends for a taste of some of the best art being produced on the Peninsula and meet the artists who make it happen. What an invitation!
