A burglar who stole nine war medals as well as cash, jewellery and clothing from a Frankston property last week is also believed to have defecated at the scene and used some of the clothing to wipe up.
The Margate Ave burglary, which occurred sometime between 5pm on July 8 and 5pm on July 10, was discovered when the 91-year-old victim returned to his ransacked home. The nine World War II medals stolen included MBE and Citation medals. It is believed a substantial amount of cash, jewellery, an army uniform, and other items were also stolen.
Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives investigating the incident also believe the offender defecated at the side of the house and used some of the stolen clothing to clean themselves.
Investigators have released images of some of the stolen items in the hope someone may recognise them and come forward. Anyone with information or who witnessed suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report here
