A man has been injured during an aggravated home invasion in Mount Martha early this morning.

Police say the 50-year-old went to the front door of his Kilburn Grove residence about 1.30am and was confronted by two people who were trying to force their way inside. When he ran on to the nature strip, two other people approached him from behind and assaulted him with a weapon. The man sustained minor injuries.

The four people then entered the residence, stole the keys to a 2020 Audi RS4 – registration BLA824 – and drove away south along Kilburn Grove. The vehicle, pictured, is yet to be recovered.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or has information regarding the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online.
