When it comes to shopping and dining, it’s hard to go past Mornington’s Main St. And now there’s another reason for you to go to town: a live summer music program. Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has reallocated the money usually given to the Mornington Chamber of Commerce for the Winter Music Festival to provide a musical backdrop for this vibrant retail precinct.
Already buzzing after the creation of an immensely popular outdoor dining hub between the Esplanade and Barkly St, Main St has been allocated six performance zones – near Riot Art, the Grand Hotel, Empire Mall, Noodle Box corner, the library corner, and Boyz 4 Breakie – for musos and bands to perform from 11am-4pm each Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the middle of the month. Each zone will have an information board with a QR code that links to the program. If your business already features live music, you can email Bec at market@morningtonchamber.com.au to be added to the program, which will be promoted online, in print and on social media.
Suddenly summer’s sounding like a whole lot more fun.
