A woman hid in a cupboard and called police during a home invasion in Frankston South overnight. Police said three men – two of African appearance and one of Caucasian appearance – forced their way into the Kirkby Court property through french doors at the back of the home just after midnight. Armed with machetes or similar weapons, they demanded items including phones and iPads as well as keys to the family’s luxury cars.
The men, who were wearing face coverings, drove off in the family’s white Jeep Cherokee and white BMW X5. The BMW has been recovered after being dumped in Richmond, but the Jeep, with the registration number ZGC 037, has not been recovered.
A male resident of the home was threatened during the incident but was not injured. A woman, who was hiding in an upstairs cupboard, called police.
Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for anyone with information or who sees the stolen Jeep to contact police.
