Let your imagination fly at Frankston Arts Centre

With school holidays coming up and winter setting in, it’s easy for children to spend more time on screens. Frankston Arts Centre (FAC) has several programs to entice children and parents to step away from the virtual and into life.

Whether it’s creating a space fantasy in Hot Arts for Cool Kids, seeing favourite books come to life on stage or being mesmerised by the magic skills of The Amazing Danny, there is something for all children at FAC. The third bestselling book of all time by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, ‘The Little Prince’, has been adapted for the stage in a delightful production. Arriving in Frankston on Tuesday, June 21, for two shows only, children and their parents will be captivated by the adventures of fantastical creatures and mythical destinations. Two performers, puppets and crates of surprises reveal a story that has captured the imaginations of children for generations.

Little ones will also love Hippo! Hippo!  – a musical adventure based on the book by Hazel Edwards ‘There’s a Hippopotamus on my roof eating cake’. A story of a little girl and her imaginary friends, this is one joyful performance that is guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Young inventors and artists will love creating their space fantasy during the much-loved School Holiday Arts & Craft Program, Hot Arts for Cool Kids. Using their imagination and recyclable materials, children can construct, sew, paint and make whatever they think is out in space. For aspiring magicians, Amazing Danny is the show for you with his great sense of humour and wacky magic skills. For those who believe in fairies, join in with Harmony and Rhapsody as they sing and dance through a high-energy party. Older teens will enjoy X-factor winner Dami Im, as she returns from her amazing Eurovision performance ready to unveil her new album, or perhaps the Michael Jackson tribute show will be just the history lesson your adolescent is looking for in the school holidays.

So this winter, warm up your creativity and step into the arts.  More at
