Tickets are now on sale for the fourth annual Mornington Winter Jazz & Blues Festival and the line-up is electrifying.

Street corners, bars and restaurants will come alive over the Queen’s Birthday Weekend, June 10 – 12, as some of the biggest names in the business hit town and this year there’s also a new Swing & Blues program. The 2015 festival was a huge success, with more than 116 performances in and around Mornington, and this year is set to raise the bar. The full program will feature in next month’s edition of the Mornington Peninsula Magazine as a lift-out so make sure to grab yourself a copy. This year’s festival highlights include:

–  An intimate Dinner and Show performance ‘May I Be Frank’ with Frank Bennett at The Rocks, Friday June 10;

–  Live and Local Blues Stage at the Grand Hotel, Friday June 10, followed by crowd favourite Soul Sacrifice – The Music of Santana. This seven-piece line-up covers the very best of Santana’s 60s/70s classics including ‘Black Magic Woman’, ‘Evil Ways’ and ‘Smooth’, to name a few;

–  Vince Jones back by popular demand and performing a brand new set that has never been experienced on the peninsula before, ‘One Night Spent’ at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Saturday June 11. Jones heads to Mornington straight off the back of a sold-out Melbourne International Jazz Festival performance; and

–  Vika Bull with her new and epic stage performance ‘Let’s Get It On, The Life and Music of Marvin Gaye’ at the Grand Hotel, Sunday June 12.

Also returning to the program is the hugely successful ‘After Dark’ series, which this year moves to Mornington Bowling Club and features special guest and consummate jazz musician Andy Vance. Topping off the festival weekend is the back-to-back Swingin’ Blues Afternoon at Beaches of Mornington on Sunday June 12. The afternoon is proudly presented by the Godony family in memory of much-loved local photographer and music lover Hadyn Godony. The Mornington Winter Jazz & Blues Festival runs from June 10 – 12, tickets and full program at www.morningtonjazz.com.au and updates at www.facebook.com/Morningtonjazz. Tickets on sale now.
