Get your film and music making competition hats on guys; the inaugural I Love Live Music 60 Second Film Competition is up and running and there’s great prizes to be won.

The Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN) has joined forces with the Live Music Office and the internationally accredited St Kilda Film Festival (presented by the City of Port Phillip) to promote a national awareness campaign about the importance of contemporary live music in the lives of everyday Australians.

Yeah, music really matters and now’s the time for film makers across Australia to collaborate with local musicians to make a 60 second film in any genre or style that gets the message across. There is a catch though, you have to address at least one of the following themes, Imagine life without live Australian music, What I love about live Australian music or What live Australian music means to me. Easy right?

Film makers and musicians will receive extensive exposure through a national distribution campaign that will showcase ten finalists and major cash and inkind prizes are being awarded by NXTGIG app, APRA AMCOS, Allans Billy Hyde, Sensaphonics Australia, Palace Cinemas, the Travel Beyond Group and SAE Institute Australia. Winner’s prizes include $5,000 courtesy of NXTGIG and runners up receive $1,000 cash courtesy of APRA AMCOS amongst other prizes. The ten finalists will also have their films distributed to Australia’s top artist managers and through Telstra Road, Music Australia, AMIN, APRA AMCOS, Live Music Office, Music Rights Australia and the Association of Artist Managers.

So what are you waiting for?

Entry is free and the comp closes on April 1. Log onto http://www.amin.org.au/projects/60-second-film-competition/ and get to it.
