How would you like to help reward the members of our community who go above and beyond? Well, here’s your chance – Mornington Peninsula Shire is seeking expressions of interest from residents and business operators to become a member of the 2021 Australia Day Local Awards selection panel.
Each year the Shire celebrates the achievements and contributions of community members through the Australia Day Local Awards, and the selection panel is responsible for assessing all nominations and making recommendations to the Shire for the award-winners.
“This is a great opportunity to get involved and help recognise the outstanding Peninsula residents who go above and beyond for their local community,” said Mayor Sam Hearn, pictured.
Panel members will be required to have demonstrated personal and professional integrity; have expertise, experience and/or commitment to recognising achievement in the community; have a track record of constructive and collaborative decision-making in a board or committee-type structure; be available to attend and take part in an annual selection process meeting; and maintain absolute discretion around deliberations and recommendations.
Expressions of interest close on Monday, August 3, and you can lodge yours online here. Alternatively, hard-copy forms are available by phoning 1300 850 600, and the completed forms can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘Selection Panel – Australia Day Local Awards EOI’; or posted to Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, Attention: Christine Aslanidis, Selection Panel – Australia Day Local Awards EOI, Private Bag 1000, Rosebud 3939.
