Greens turn pink for good cause

The greens at Mornington Golf Club turned a vibrant shade of pink for charity on April 12. A group of 120 golfers teed off wearing pink at the annual Mornington Golf Club Ladies Golf Day and raised $8400 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Organisers and volunteers were blessed with a beautiful day and golfers enjoyed a lunch, pink cupcakes, trading stalls, raffles, silent auctions, presentations and more. The Mornington Golf Club charity day has been running for more than 20 years and has raised more than $70,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  It started years ago with a small bowl in the middle of a table requesting donations. This year’s event raised a record amount and the club is looking forward to an even bigger and better day next year.
