With COVID-19 restrictions eased, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council is inviting shire residents and ratepayers to dispose of green waste for free from November 13-16. “These events are popular with residents,” the council said, “and to accommodate as many as possible we have extended the event over four days. Delays should be expected, especially in the morning and at the end of the day. With COVID-safe requirements in place, contact details will need to be provided at the gate.”
Residents and ratepayers are reminded to bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or rates notice, and only green waste brought to the tip in residential vehicles or trailers will be accepted. Mornington can only accept up to three cubic metres of green waste per trip.
Green waste refers to all types of garden waste and untreated timber and can be taken to council tips in Watt Rd, Mornington; Truemans Rd, Rye; or McKirdys Rd, Tyabb. The tips will be open from 8am-4pm on Friday, November 13, and Monday, November 16; and from 8am-5pm on the weekend of November 14-15.
