Two Men’s Sheds on the Mornington Peninsula will share more than $10,000 to install exercise equipment and hold health and well-being seminars, the Federal Government announced today. Safety Beach Dromana Men’s Shed and the Western Port Men’s Shed received the grants under the Government’s National Shed Development Programme.
Flinders federal Liberal MP Greg Hunt said Men’s Sheds offered men a critical avenue for social support and engagement, which was vital now more than ever. “To stay healthy, we need to do regular activities with the people around us,” Mr Hunt said. “Our Men’s Sheds have become a focal point for the Peninsula community and will play a vital role as we emerge from COVID-19 restrictions. Men’s Sheds are a fantastic way for men to stay connected with their communities.”
Since 2013, the Government has provided $5.4 million through the national program to support Men’s Sheds across Australia.
