SFNC president Dale O’Neil, left, with Peta Murphy, Carrum state Labor MP Sonya Kilkenny, Chris Miles, sponsor 38 South Café’s owner Jim, Sue Miles and players.

The Seaford Football Netball Club is back and playing at RF Miles Reserve for the first time since 2017 after the completion of the reserve’s $9.174 million redevelopment last month.

Dunkley federal Labor MP Peta Murphy was on hand for the return last weekend, tossing the coin with Chris and Sue, the grand-daughters of R.F. Miles, after whom the reserve is named. “(The) reserve looks incredible; I’m proud to see the Tigers back playing at their home ground here in Seaford,” Ms Murphy said. “Congratulations to Seaford Football Netball Club and Seaford Cricket Club for all your hard work making this happen.”

The redevelopment included:
• A big two-storey pavilion with female-friendly facilities;
• A bigger oval to meet AFL standards;
• New netball courts and cricket nets; and,
• New oval lighting, scoreboard and coaches’ boxes.

Seaford Cricket Club will also use the reserve.
