Mornington’s Biggest Morning Tea is back and this year organisers are hoping to raise $2000 for Cancer Council Victoria. The Mornington Chamber of Commerce event will once again be held in Empire Street Mall on May 25 from 9.30-11.30am.
Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $1000, with hospitality venues donating platters of food and other businesses donating prizes for raffles. All proceeds will once again be donated to Cancer Council Victoria.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is Cancer Council Australia’s most popular fundraising event and the largest, most successful event of its kind in Australia. Last year it raised $11.9million and this year it celebrates 25 years. The idea is simple — friends, colleagues and the community gather over tea and treats and raise vital money for people affected by cancer.
Cancer Council statistics show one in two Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85.
