A Mornington motorist who allegedly hit two parked cars and a fence in Mount Eliza early this morning is expected to face drink driving charges and other traffic offences. Police said the 32-year-old abandoned his car after the accident on Canadian Bay Rd about 4.30am but was found nearby after officers responded to reports that a man had been seen “walking around looking lost in a dressing gown”.

After returning a positive preliminary breath test, the man was taken to a police station where he returned a positive evidentiary breath test of 0.192. His driver’s licence was suspended immediately and he is expected to be charged on summons.
