After becoming a millionaire, it’s fair to say many of us would be telling the boss where to shove their job. But that wasn’t the case for the Carrum Downs man who won $7.5 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.
“Thank you, thank you!” the man said when told of his win this morning by an official from The Lott. “But now I have to go to work. Celebrations can’t begin until tonight, unfortunately – but I’ll be in a much better mood at work now – and maybe a little distracted.”
The man was one of four Division 1 winners in last night’s draw, whose numbers were 25, 10, 39, 33, 2, 27 and 31, with the supps 20 and 37. “I was very happy,” he said. “I screamed out to my wife and showed her. She broke down into tears. She can’t believe it. She just keeps saying how unbelievable it is. I just feel so overwhelmed. I can’t believe this has happened. I will take my family out for a nice dinner tonight to celebrate.”
The man said he intended to buy a house, share his winnings with his “very big family”, perhaps buy an investment property, and travel. “We’ll do lots of travelling. As soon as we can go overseas, we will plan a big trip around Asia.”
