A man has had his vehicle impounded after allegedly recording a blood alcohol reading six times over the legal limit. Police said the 31-year-old was stopped while driving in Rosebud at 2.50am last Wednesday, October 14, and a subsequent breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.316.
“The male informed attending officers that he was on his way to purchase cigarettes,” police posted online.
The man’s car was impounded at a cost of $1145 and he was issued with a $1652 infringement notice for breaching the Chief Health Officer’s directions. He will be summonsed to appear at the Dromana Magistrates Court later.
Meanwhile, police are seeking information about a theft from a Crib Point sporting club. A shipping container behind the club’s Colin Pde premises was broken into between 10pm on October 8 and 6am on October 11. Items stolen included 10 speakers and eight speaker drivers.
