Scot joined the team at Sages Cottage in 2019 through a training program, and by 2022 his dedication paid off with casual employment as a food and beverage attendant. He’s now a familiar face in the Sages Cottage cafe, confidently taking orders, making coffees, and crafting hot chocolates that have become a bit of a local legend. But that’s just one part of his busy week.
On Wednesdays, Scot joins the Sages sports program, staying active and connected. Thursdays find him in the cafe, although his day doesn’t end there. He’s also a co-host on 98.7 RPP FM’s Scrambled Eggs breakfast show, where he brings footy energy and on-point AFL tips to the airwaves every Thursday and Friday morning.
Footy is a huge part of Scot’s world. Since 2023, he’s been playing with the Cranbourne Eagles in the All Abilities Football League. Whether he’s up forward, holding strong in the midfield, or defending the backline, he brings the same determination and spirit to the game that he brings to everything he does. A diehard Essendon fan, Scot doesn’t miss a home game, where he’s often recognised by fellow fans who know him from the radio or his growing social media presence.
And when the footy boots come off, it’s time for basketball. Friday nights are for the Bandits, where Scot keeps the momentum going on the court at Dandenong.
Outside work and sport, Scot has a soft spot for animals, especially rabbits, and a big heart for friendship. His best mate Corey is a constant presence in his life, and he keeps in touch with Jordan, a friendship he has maintained from his school days.
But it’s in the media that Scot sees his future. With more than 15,000 followers on TikTok under the handle @scottythehottie, he’s quickly building a brand with humour, charm, and plenty of footy banter. Inspired by the larger-than-life Australian Rules commentator Brian Taylor, Scot dreams of one day having a career in media just like his idol. He’s even considering formal media training through the new program at Sages Cottage to sharpen his skills and take the next big step.
Scotty is carving out a path that’s all his own, full of energy, humour and heart. Whether it’s at Sages, on the field, behind the mic or on your feed, one thing’s for sure: Scotty the Hottie is just getting warmed up.
