Built with the support of the State Government as part of a $151.1 million redevelopment of Chisholm’s Frankston campus, the centre opened last month. Each year it will welcome more than 2000 students who will gain practical, real-world experience in high-demand fields like community services, mental health, youth work, and cybersecurity.
Enhancing the student experience and preparing graduates for the workforce, the cutting-edge space features modern classrooms, technology-enhanced learning areas, and hands-on training environments tailored to industry needs. It also centralises essential student services, including enrolment support and student counselling.
“Chisholm stands for excellence,” said Chisholm Institute CEO Stephen Varty. “This new building is a shining example of how TAFE delivers on this commitment and our belief that excellence should be accessible to everyone.”
For the Peninsula, the centre’s impact extends beyond education; it strengthens the region’s workforce by creating a direct pipeline of skilled professionals.
“This fantastic facility will support the thousands of students who are training for a new career and a new opportunity thanks to Free TAFE,” said Skills and Training Minister Andrew Giles.
