Nepean Boulevard vision set to be brought to life!

Congratulations to Jodie Belyea (Dunkley) and Zoe McKenzie (Flinders) for their return to Parliament.

Earlier in the election campaign period, local government and local industry couldn’t wipe the smile of our collective faces when the Federal Government announced $50 million towards upgrades to Nepean Highway in Frankston.

This funding will secure the future of Nepean Highway as a boulevard and a destination – in its own right.

Importantly, this funding will help bring the Frankston City Council’s Nepean Boulevard Revitalisation project to life.

This 3.7km stretch of Nepean Highway through Frankston will be entirely transformed, uplifted and given a new lease of life for a new generation of people calling Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula home.

Tourists will know they have arrived in Frankston when they’re greeted by a green canopied boulevard, a rejuvenated public realm, and a plethora of dining experiences.

In the north, central and south sections of the boulevard, visitors will also discover a city that respects and preserves its rich history, embraces and nourishes the natural environment, and celebrates and enhances its bay vistas.

Together with Frankston City Council, the Committee strongly advocated for this project, and we did so because we know that investment in Frankston City is important to cater for the region’s growth, economic opportunities, and housing targets.

The Nepean Boulevard Revitalisation will help ensure Frankston realises it’s potential as the capital of the south-east of Melbourne and a destination for millions of visitors each year.
