For four decades, one local club has been proving that retirement is just the beginning of life’s adventures. With the motto Fun and Friendship in Retirement, this warm and welcoming group brings together retirees from all walks of life, united by a love of connection, shared experiences and a good laugh.
The club’s gatherings are anything but ordinary. Each meeting features stimulating, thought-provoking speakers covering a diverse range of topics, along with a newly introduced “fun segment” – think light-hearted games and humorous activities inspired by games and shows like Would I Lie to You?
Beyond the meetings, members enjoy a calendar brimming with outings – from casual dine-outs and concerts to ten-pin bowling, day trips, short stay getaways and even cruises. There’s no fundraising pressure, just plenty of opportunities to get involved.
For those with specific interests, the club also hosts smaller “clubs within the club” -including a Men’s Coffee Club, Investment Group, Book Club & Book Exchange, and a Ten Pin Bowling Club.
With an average of around 50 attendees per meeting, the group strikes the perfect balance – small enough to stay friendly, yet large enough to offer variety. New members are greeted with genuine warmth, and anyone is welcome to attend a couple of meetings before deciding if it’s the right fit.
The benefits go well beyond the activities themselves – members speak of feeling more connected to the community, making new friendships, and enjoying the lively exchange of ideas and perspectives.
If you’d like to see for yourself, simply drop in for a meeting – visitors are always welcome. Come along and be part of a group where fun, friendship and a fresh chapter in life are always on the agenda.
