For Peninsula local and Chisholm carpentry apprenticeship student Clea White, what started as a childhood dream to be just like her dad has grown into a real career path. “I love the idea of building a house; someone’s going to live in that one day,” she said. “I want to own my own business and be a good role model to other young girls so they see a female builder out there doing her own stuff.”
Clea is also carving out her place on social media. After attending the 2024 Bowens Building + Innovation Expo as a guest of Chisholm, she was given Bowens-branded merchandise that she wore while working. Sharing her projects and tagging Bowens on social media caught its attention, leading to an ambassador contract. Now Clea combines her carpentry skills with her growing influence online, showing how trades and social media can work hand in hand.
“Bowens being affiliated with Chisholm is really cool,” Clea said. “Without Chisholm, I wouldn’t have gone to that event.”
