The Mornington Art Show has established itself as the biggest and best quality art show on the Mornington Peninsula and one of the best in Victoria, according to the comments of various show judges and submitting artists.  After the resounding success of the last show, the 46th annual show will open on Thursday night, January 18, and run daily from January 19-26.

Held at the Mornington Peninsula Community Theatre at the corner of Nepean Highway and Wilsons Rd, the show attracts a wide range of valued sponsors and a great number of quality artists.  Opening night will have a gala party atmosphere with an environmental theme and a display of Aboriginal totem art.  Gourmet finger food will be served by wait staff with refreshments available from our bar area.  Jazz music will punctuate the evening and our feature artists, John Bredl and Kate Jenvey, will mingle with guests.

The great attraction of the show is the wide variety of genres from local and interstate artists employing a wide range of media. More than 800 paintings will be for sale at prices from a couple of hundred dollars to several thousand dollars, and we are hopeful again of attracting artwork from several states.

Tickets for opening night are available online at morningtonartshow.com.au or from Farrells Bookstore in Mornington.  All profits from the art show will fund a range of community and international projects of the Mornington Rotary Club.
