Two Frankston City Council workers have stepped in to help a baby brushtail possum that lost its mother.
The parks maintenance officers were at Darnley Reserve in Skye when they found a dead brushtail. On closer inspection, they noticed movement in the animal’s pouch. The officers carefully removed the joey before taking it to Karingal Vet, which later took it to a wildlife shelter. The joey is being cared for and is doing well.
