The cream of the Peninsula’s musos, entertainers and stallholders will transform Mornington into a sensory wonderland at the 22nd Main Street Mornington Festival on Sunday, October 15, from 11am-5pm. There will be more than 80 stalls to check out this year, as well as nine performance spaces, roving entertainers, and lots of fun kids’ activities.
The Main Stage’s varied line-up includes popular Peninsula bands Jamroots and Wilson & White, and The Vibraphonic Orkestra will amaze audiences with its signature mix of funky bass, heavy rhythms and powerful horn lines. The Peninsula Folk Club is once again providing a great line-up of artists, including the Chovies, Back Porch Band, and Jam Tarts. Local schools will be performing on the Community Stage and iMPakT FReeZA will present a variety of youth groups and performers.
Lots of amazing performances will be happening at RE Weekly Entertainment at Empire Mall, including the incredible Totally Wilde Magic, and the Hooptopia workshop will teach you some fantastic hula hoop tricks!
“We are really excited about this year’s program, with so many fantastic new stallholders, activities, and performers,” said festival director Christina Nolan.
Foodies and wine buffs can sample a huge variety of gourmet produce, international cuisine, and Peninsula wine, while many popular stalls will be returning this year along with some fantastic new participants, including Wine Travel Bag, The Herb Store, Yiayia’s Rustic Foods, Morning Sun Vineyard, and Astacalpaca.
Explore VR will be making its first appearance at the festival for kids of all ages to enjoy its virtual reality booth. Another new participant will be X-Golf, which will have a golf simulator and will be holding competitions and giving away prizes during the day, and Mornington Peninsula Libraries will be putting on lots of craft activities.
