Shrek and Kung-Fu Panda will light up Rosebud’s Foreshore in April at an Australian-first exhibition of some of DreamWorks Animation’s best known characters.
‘Lights by DreamWorks’ is a large-scale lantern experience. It is an interactive, walkthrough experience for all ages, it’s set to run for 30 days and it’s tipped to attract more than 300,000 visitors. You will see more than 100 DreamWorks characters brought to life and it’s previously only been seen in Chile and London.
Acting Tourism and Major Events Minister Philip Dalidakis launched the ‘Lights by DreamWorks Exhibition’ at Rosebud on January 13.
Modelled on the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival, ‘Lights by DreamWorks’ features huge illuminated figures from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon and Madagascar.
Visitors will also be treated to scenographic pieces, LED furnishings, themed technology and learning zones, an immersive cinema experience and animatronic dragons.
The Andrews Labor Government is supporting the event through the $20 million Regional Events Fund, which funds the biggest events in regional Victoria.
Acting Tourism and Major Events Minister Philip Dalidakis said: “The Lights by DreamWorks Exhibition is an event for the whole family. It’s also a great opportunity for visitors to explore one of Victoria’s seaside regional towns.”
