Tell us a bit about you and what you do:
I'm a graphic designer, currently working as a senior designer at ERD, although I have a number of other projects on the go that I enjoy doing in my spare time. I run The Nook Gallery & Studios in Mornington, along with my two brothers. I manage The Collection – Vintage Wedding Prop Hire and I'm also renovating my new studio at The Nook where I plan to start freelancing from at the end of this year. There's not much time for anything else, but I also have a rhodesian ridgeback named Duffa, a husband named Brendon and a baby on the way, whom is yet to be named!
Describe your style:
My style is a bit of everything – but I tend to keep my colour palette fairly neutral with a splash of colour here and there. I love going camping in winter so I can wear some of my favourite items – my Hunter gumboots, Elk Scarf and Norquay Co. beanie.
Do you think Mornington Peninsula style/fashion has a certain look or feel?
I think there is definitely a distinct difference in style on the Mornington Peninsula, particularly in comparison to Melbourne. We are much less pretentious and our overall style and attitude is much more relaxed.
What are a couple of your favourite blogs or websites and why?
My favourite website would have to be Pinterest – I could sit there for hours looking at interiors and design related imagery. One thing leads to another taking me on a never ending journey of inspiration. I also love Etsy and The Design Files.
Can you tell us one or two of your fave local spots?
Ok i'll break it down:
Cafe - Flock amongst the Dava shops in Mornington, they have the best avocado Vegemite toastie’s there!
Shop - Scout’s Honour, Dromana, from Emeldo necklaces to Made by Frank Washable hand bags.
Beach - Mt Martha South Beach – I grew up here.
Winery - Trofeo Estate, Dromana absolutely love their food, wine and industrial interior.
