Tell us a bit about you and what you do:
I am the head chef / part owner of East. Bar and Dining in Mount Martha. My passion is to cook featuring natural produce and make things from scratch.
I enjoy producing food that is innovative and I take local produce and suppliers seriously. I also have a huge passion for foraging the beach-side, fields and road-sides of the Mornington Peninsula for forgotten produce. This helped inspire my new seasonal menu.
Describe your style:
I am a back to basics kind of guy with a twist. Where food comes from is important, but I also love to push the boundaries - producing food that arrives at the table looking sophisticated yet playful.
Do you think Mornington Peninsula style/fashion has a certain look or feel?
I don’t have much time to contemplate personal style/fashion, but I would definitively say that the Mornington Peninsula has a timeless elegance about it. I could see it pictured in a movie.
What are a couple of your favourite blogs or websites and why?
Again, I don’t have much spare time to surf the net or for blogs etc, as my new restaurant consumes just about every minute of my day. But when I do have that one minute free, I enjoy looking at Broadsheet Melbourne to keep up with what is happening in the my industry.
Can you tell us one or two of your fave local spots?
Anywhere beach-side on the Mornington Peninsula is a winner for me, it’s where I love to spend some time out with my kids. I also love a drive through the wineries of Red Hill.
