Tell us a bit about you and what you do:
My name is Shannon McAlpine and I am a fashion designer, dressmaker and owner of fashion label ‘pretty parcel’ based on the peninsula. I create quirky and vintage inspired clothing in my home studio. Each collection is handmade in limited edition runs and not mass produced so you be can confident in wearing something completely unique.
Describe your style:
My style is feminine, cute, quirky, playful and is inspired by the 1950s and 60s with a modern twist. I love accessorising my pretty parcel outfits with cute stockings, jewellery and brooches and feel you should be able to dress up any day of the week and wear what makes you happy.
Do you think mornington peninsula style/fashion has a certain look or feel?
Fun, relaxed, bright and comfy.
What are a couple of your favourite blogs or websites and why?
I love instagram! I have met so many amazing creative and talented people through instagram and a lot of local ladies I have had the pleasure in collaborating with.
Can you tell us one or two of your fave local spots?
D.O.C in Mornington is an all time favourite - their nutella calzone is to die for! And Felix and Dees kitchen in Dromana. My favourite beach spot would be safety beach, the perfect beach in Summer.
