With the start of an impressive event season well underway in Frankston, now is the perfect time to step outdoors with family and friends to enjoy and take advantage of great Christmas shopping while getting ready for all the magic of the festive season.
Frankston’s annual Christmas Festival of Lights is your chance to bring the family together for a night of excitement and impressive entertainment. This year the festival celebrates 20 years of bringing festive cheer to Frankston City on Saturday, November 25, from 5-10pm in Davey St, and it’s guaranteed to leave you with lasting magical memories.
Organisers have a whole host of fantastic activities planned for children of all ages. Santa’s Grand Arrival and the chance to meet the jolly fellow at Santa’s House will be hard to top, but a meet and greet with Peppa Pig is sure to come close. Youngsters will also be able to create a Christmas masterpiece within the North Pole Children’s Activity Centre at Frankston Arts Centre and the Frankston Library, and indulge in all manner of fun in Rudolph’s Children’s Zone.
The whole family will enjoy the smorgasbord of gastronomic delights on offer in Gingerbread Lane Festival Dining, the delightful and uplifting sounds of Christmas at the Entertainment Stage, and the Trolls Live at the Frankston Arts Centre. Plus the event is a great opportunity to get a head start on your Christmas shopping at Little Beauty Christmas Market, brought to you by the organisers of the popular, Emu Plains Market, featuring over 100 stalls.
The festival’s highlight will undoubtedly be the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Fireworks Display at 9.30pm, which everyone will be able to join in by purchasing a $3 candle from the Andrews Funeral Care marquee.
Other upcoming events in Frankston City over the next few months include the Sea N Sound Festival on Saturday, November 18, at Frankston Park from 2-10pm, and Sand Sculpting Australia’s annual exhibition, which runs from Saturday, December 16, to Wednesday, April 25. Discounted early bird tickets for the Sand Sculpting exhibition are available all this month at visitfrankston.com, making a perfect Christmas present or a wonderful family day out for the holidays.
