The beautiful coastal village of Somers will come alive on Sunday, October 29, for the 15th annual Somers Arts Fair. Established in 2003, the fair highlights the wealth of talented artists in our community and brings the community together for a wonderful family-oriented day.
The entrance to the school will be transformed into the arts precinct. Filled with works by prominent, collectable and emerging artists, the open air café will serve barista coffee, tea and scones as the district’s most talented students practise their busking skills. The market square will be filled with stalls featuring handmade wares made by local artisans for which the area is justly famous.
The main oval is the setting for the traditional fair. Children will be entertained with rides, games, showbags and a variety of creative hands-on activities and workshops while you sample gourmet foods, local wine, cider and beer as blues band Catfish Voodoo and Indigenous Hip Hop Projects play on stage.
At 2pm the main event of the day – the art auction – will take place. Visit somersartsfair.com and mark the date in your diary!
